DJIBOUTI, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN... During her op'erations.in.the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden the USS Davis made 12 separate afuteigtopes in Djibouti and 'came to regard the small former French Colonypnas her second home port. Both the local government and the French navy were extremely hospitable and helpful. Several beach p'arties, fuel stops and beer on the pierv in Djibouti was alvvcaysf-looked forward to. Along with their ivory and gold and wood,carvgi.ngs many crew members can also count a Djibouti T-shirt among' their souvenirs.
