UAH mounts commence policing, empty brass,.. f 7.-:??f'7' ' ' ..And the Chief Gunnersmate takes a well deserved break! From: 2nd BATT, 4th, REGT., 3rcI MARINE DIVISION To: USS DAVIS DAVIS spent forty six days on the line provid- ing gunfire support for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines and Army of the Republic of Vietnam. The ship fired over 6,000 rounds of ammution and our gunfire support teams were on station around the clock. In The majority of our operations were spent in the I Corps area, however early in our deploy- ment we were assigned to the IV Corps area. Friendly outposts and troup movements depend- ed upon heavy armament support and DAVIS was always on station ready for call for fire. IT WAS A REAL PLEASURE TO HAVE YOU IN SUPPORT. WE HAVE WORKED WITH YOU BEFORE AND KNEW WE COULD EXPECT A FINE JOB.HOWEVER YOU FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS. I I Ia. i. I I I I I I..
