Talent Show

Annual Student Council Sponsored The Davis County High School talent show for the 1979 year turned out pretty well. There was quite a display of talent and comedy. Mr. King and his sociology class did a Karnac the Magnificant act. Julie Murphy and Brenda Blumhagen sang solos and a duet. Michelle Bachman. Betsy Swaim. Julie Murphy, and Sharon Biles did the little chipmunks. Richard Boo” Brown did his famous (ELVIS) act. Julie Murphy. Treva Housholder, Ronda Housholder. Sharon Biles, Nancy Teubel. Pam Davis. Liz Griffith, Dave Hardy, Tammy Schweiger, and Nikki Creath did the 12 years of school. Sherry Thompson and Ramona Wyse sang a song. Jeff McClure and Mark Hargrave portrayed father time and baby new year. The great man in the red and white suit was Kevin Knerr. Tracy Reynolds announced the contestants, and Brenda Blumhagen and Deniese Ball directed the show. 28 Talent Show May Every Moment Of Your Holidays Be Bright And Merry

Foreign Language Festival The Davis County High School Foreign Language Department hosted a Foreign Language Festival in which approximately 25 schools in AEA 15 and 16 participated. Each school’s Spanish or French students presented skits, plays, games, puppet shows, etc. There was a display room containing memorabilia from many foreign lands. In the conversation room, as well as at all the other presentations, students could earn ‘‘pesos’’ or “francs” for their participation and then buy items from a large variety of attractive prizes at the “foreign store. Northeast Missouri State University of Kirksville supplied the opening speaker and a French student. Entertainment was provided by the Spanish Club of NMSU. 30 Foreign Language Festival
