A-Club Fun Night ‘Are you ready for this, dad?” The A Club Fun Night was held Saturday. November 17. It started at noon and ended about 10:00. Fun Night is held annually to raise money for sport teams. The lunch stand opened at 12:00, and then the festivities started at 12:30 with the kindergarten and first grade relays. Elementary activities which included second and third relays, fourth and fifth grade Anything Goes Contest, and sixth grade basketball relays, lasted until 2:00. At 2:30 the middle school students performed in their sports. These included wrestling, girls’ basketball, and boys’ basketball. Then the freshmen and sophomore, girls’ and boys’ basketball teams took over. At the hour of 5:00 the Anything Goes Contest teams of high school students, did their thing. The teams consisted of four girls and four boys, competing for prizes. Then the varsity wrestling, girls’ and boys’ basketball, did their thing. The pie throwing contest began about 8:30. The people in the audience bought pies to throw at their favorite people (or their least favorite?!). And last of all came the adults’ Anything Goes. As usual this was one of the highlights of the evening. All during the Fun Night, various games were run by different athletic groups. Such games as fish pond, a dart game, a penny pitch, a football toss, a basketball shoot, a cake walk, and a baseball throw were downstairs. Everyone attending seemed to have had a great time. One student’s comment on A-Club Fun Night was. Where I came from before, there wasn’t such a thing as this; I think it’s a great way to raise money to contibute to different sport teams, commented Dave Hardy, this being his first year at D.C. Greg Smith also commented on the A-Club Fun Night, This is a great way to earn money for sport teams and getting everbody involved.” Come on, if you can’t hop any faster than that backwards; we'll never make it to the finish line. 26-A-Club Fun Night Brian gives his dad a dose of the pie throwing contest.
