1945 SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY By ROBLR1 LLL: LHAIPLLL HIS year, for causes and reasons unknown, I was selected to find out what the future holds for us Wlth my small Illlfld and wlthout the help of the clystal ball whlch It IS customary to use when problng mto the future, I was stumped, fox one must have a p 1or1ty to get even a crystal ball these days I was desperate, for the program had been wouymg me for weeks The other day I was walklng down the street and heedlessly bumped agalnst a tall, mlddle aged man who was carrylng a round package The package shpped but he managed to catch It before It h1t the concrete pavement The man was quite angry untll I told hlm my story He sald that our encountel was ve1y foltunate for me as the round package whlch hc was carrymg contamed a. COMPLAINT OF 1945 SENIOR CIASS GRUMBLER By C'1x1 SXIITH HY I was elected grumble1 I cant understand because you all know that I m not so much a gl umbler as several others IH thlS class but slnce I have the Job I w1ll do my best Wh1Ch 1sn t very good We of the 1945 graduatmg class have found 1n the years that we have been hero many changes that should have been made You undergraduates have a great opportun1ty to make these changes IH the years before you Thls year lVLr Reynolds who lb Just l1ke a wolf among sheep because he keeps us students 6XC1t6d all the t1me when he IS roamlng through the halls moved h1s office ovel 1n the class room bu1ld1ng so that he would be nearer to us students therefore we cannot do our best IH our class work or anythlng else as you all know Hence I th1nk Mr Reynolds and h1s office should be moved back 1DtO the old bu1ld1ng or the Gymnasmm or the new garage It would be better st1ll 1f he had h1s office down town Th1S school should be more l1ke college where one can go down town out on the campus or to the gym whenever he doesn t have a class Here however lf one of us 18 even caught 1n the hall or rest room let alone down town or on the campus O1 1n the gym he l1kely vull get a lot of The wr1t1ng of excuses for pup1ls to get out of class or studv hall should be abol1shed because thlg may lead some of the students to forgmg ex cuses If they learn they are good at the trlck they may 1n later yea1s forge checks thus our school would develop cr1m1nals What a dlsgrace to th1s school that would be When someone SklpS school the teachers g1V8 you a bunch of demer1ts and may ex en g1V6 you foul or five days of rest I th1nk th1s pun1shment should be abol1shed because 1h1s IS a free country where one can do as he pleases so long as he doesn t harm the welfare of the publ1c Several yea1s ago a hlgh school 1n Texas was blown to b1ts by an explos1on of gas IH the bu1ld1ng WhlCh k1lled and 1nJured around three hundred teachers and pup1ls On that very day three or four boys had sk1pped school to go to a mov1e 1n a nearby town thus they were sax ed from 1n3u1y and posslbly from death I always thought that l1terature was supposed to teach pup1ls better Engllsh but I took Engllsh L1terature th1s year Wh1Ch had cu1 se words 1n 1tS pages wh1ch even I w1ll not repeat Furthermore who cares about how people talked hundreds of years ago when at the same t1me you a1e read 1ng hlstory wh1ch really never happened thus gett1ng you m1xed up Wlth actual hlstory Last but not least more play wh1ch IS the natural role 1n the parad1se of youth should be brought 1nto th1S school because wherever freedom and happ1ness dwell there play IS found whereve1 play IS lackmg there the curse has fallen and sadness and oppresslon w1ll relgn You have all heard the changes whloh should be made 1n thlS school therefore you all have a great opportun1ty to make these changes 1n the years before you ac so , J..
