Each of us i)erceives external reality iti a unique way. To one student, a professor is only a voice droninp the words he must scrawl on endless pajres of notes. To others, he is an employer who rewards three or four hours a week plus overtime with a wape of semester hours and Q.P. ' s, con- vertible in due time to cash. Ideally, we find that our profes- sors can help us to realize our mental potentialities. They can in- troduce us to ideas and to tools such as intellectual perspective and inquisitivene.ss which lead us to a more accurate perception of ex- ternal reality. These men flavor our outlook with thei r own cultural standards of accomplishment. Perhaps they fill the authority positions our parents are jrradually losinjr.
