'T f'f3'W'- , Oy, 1.-Q ir.'er tl +5 ll Silt H Past and present Journalism students attended the Pepperdine University Awards D-ay at Malibu January 25 where they received first place sweepstakes for the fourth tconsectutive year along with first place trophies forthe yearbook, newspaper, and literary magazine. i Eighth grade boys played soccer in P.E.l As a social science project, ninth grader Pat McDonald interviewed world- famous explorer John Goddard following his annual assembly presented February li. R Musical and dramatic talents were exhibited during the annual Talent Assembly January 30. EThe Journalism Department found a new home in the more spacious quarters of 3Ol ot the end of first semester. Efifold was victorious January 29 in the eighth grade Blue-Gold Basketball Game. Rod Daniels and Marcos Gollarzu were Blue captains while Bronco Sevic and Mike Sillo captained the Goldf A See's Sucker Sale, sponsored by the seventh grade class, was held January 28 after school to raise money for the framing ofthe winning photograph in their new Photo Gallery competition. E A student locker check was held at the end of first semester. Craig Alexander and Janie Teague received their Cougar Awards at the Awards- lnstallation Assembly February T4, New ASB officers were installed and Starr Aworols went to twelve studenls while "J" Awards went to nearly 50 others. I Muir edged Luther and Jordan for first place over-all in the annual Tri-School Basketball Tournament February 5. Jordan placed second in the eighth grade division, third in the ninth, and tied with both Luther and Muir in the seventh.
