I The "Those Were the Days" Asembly October 3 featured Joey Kramer and Lisa Allred in a nostalgic look at the thirties. The first dance of the school year was the Welcome Bac Dance October 4. Alumni were invited to the SAC-sponsored activity. HBlue crushed Whlite 7-6 in the annual Blue-White Football Game held October 16. Guidnia Arancibia was the Blue captain while Teri Husbands led the White teamn Using a new format this year, a successful Back to School Night was held October 17. Brad and Brandon Parker, along with Greg Rc-bb, were the three individuals who sold the most mem- berships. K The Tall Tree-O, a group discovered on the Ninth Grade Field Trip to Magic Moutain, gave a special assembly presented in appreciation by the PTA for selling over TOO per cent in memberships in the PTA Membership Drive. H Eighth and ninth graders who were victorious in the afterschool volleyball program had the chance to compete November 4 at Muir in an inter-school sports meet. E ln the ninth grade Blue-Gold Football Game, Gold, led by Walt Voorhis and Anthony Servillo, was stunned by Blue's victory in a closing I3-6. Blue captains were Pat Davis and Pat McDonald. Mothers and their daughters engaged in different activities including a lock-alike contest at the Mother-Daughter Banquet November l4. For the first time Knights were on hand to serve as waiters. Some of the winning participants were the Baileys, the Nelsons, the Gcodins, the Frankians, and the Cormansm Eighth grade Gold won over the Blue in football with a 25-12 win November l5. They took a second place while Priscilla Linn took a third in Individual Pantomime. mStudents and teachers were sold into slavery at the Scholarship Slave Sale November 2l s'Basketboll free-throw and table tennis were among the lunchtime activities November 2l and 22 when Cabinet sponsored a new event to bring more interest to the usual lunch period. E White surprised Blue by taking the Blue-White Volleyball Game 2-l. Captain Guidnia Arancibia led the White team to victory and Teri Husbands led the Blue team in the November 20 clash. EThe Fabulous Faculty Women whipped the White twice in volleyball November 22 witih scores ot l5-8 and i5-6. Q Senior Orchestra went to the Burbank Golden Mall December TB making an appearance which apparently thrilled Principal Paul Williamson lupper letti. All choruses, along with Senior Orchestra, provided holiday entertainment for the students at the annual Christmas Assembly December l7 which was repeated for the parents December T9 in an e ening performance. Dancing in the cafeteria was extended from one to two days a week this year when students showed increasing interest in the activity. During the last seconds of the three-minute overtime, a basket by the Blue brought them an 8-6 vicory March ll in The Blue-White Scooter Basketball Game.
