3 f ,. Y nf' GEORGE UTL EY NINTH RUTH GIBBS EIGHT H so. ao- 1 ': T'7 Hi.. sv., X A rr. ANNA LAWRENCE S EVENTH Our Jordan Year in Review would not have been as successful as it has been if it were not for the outstanding personal direction of our five guidance counselors. They have directed their classes wisely and have been greatly instrumental in seeing that the school year has progressed smoothly. As each class enters Jordan it is assigneda grade coun- selor who remains with the members of the class until they graduate. There is also a testing counselor who admin- isters tests and helps the grade level counselor evaluate student progress. Scheduling of classes in line witha students abilities and desires, advising on personal and social problems and resolving differences between pupil, teachers and even parents are some of the things that counselors attempt to do. They work with the teachers in helping students to work to their capacity and try to be a friend in every way possible to the student. Mr. Utley has stated thathis main obiect for the ninth grade class has been, to see that the pupil 's study habits and grasp of fundamentals improve sufficiently so that they will be successful in senior high school work. Miss Gibbs feels that, in the eighth grade students need to improve study habits in order to be ready to do ninth grade work. ln the seventh grade, Mrs. Lawrence and Mrs. Brady stress, trying to help the students adjust to their new environment and to bridge the gap between elementary and iunior high school, academically and socially. is MAMIE BRADY CONNELL KORB SPECIAL SEVENTH 7 TESTING

THE PRuNciPAL's MESSAGE ' S, 7 K A yearbook is a treasure of memories,--memories of classes, students, teachers, activities and events., For some these will be happy memories, for some there may be unhappy memories and some will be touched by what is recorded here. When this book has been read, autographed and dis- cussed itwill be placed upon a shelf and forgotten except for occasions of moments of reminiscing. However, the events which took place in your lives during this year cannot be laid aside so easily. They have become part of you and will help to form the per- sonality and character of the men or women you will be some day. Every year is different and every class is unique. This year has been one of pleasure and happiness for the Jor- dan staff. We have observed and measured your progress in many subjects, and in many areas of life. We are proud of your accomplishments. We owe a debt of gratitude to the ninth grade class for the leadership and standards of behavior which it has provided this year. As goals have been achieved the members of this class have gone on to newer and greater challenges. Every day has been well lived and this pro- vided one of the finest years in the history of Jordan Jun- ior High. A. C.
