Robert Norris DEDICATION This book is in fond recognition of two dedicated educators. Robert Norris and Dennis Terry, both of whom through their love have helped us become ready for the world. Robert Norris, government and Economics teacher, has taught at Jordan for 30 years and has attended schools such as Harvard University, Georget- won University, and University of Southern California to name a few. Since beginning his teaching career he has returned and completed 17 years in school to reinforce his credentials. Dennis Terry has grown up and lived in the community surrounding Jor- dan for many years. He graduated in the summer of 1952. From Jordan, he went to Compton Community College and transferred to Humboldt State to be a part of the integration movement in baseball. After playing for the St. Louis Browns (now the St. Louis Cardinals), Mr. Terry returned to California as owner of a trucking company. He also renew- ed his Jordan ties by attending the basketball games. Due to an injury he retired from trucking and continued at Jordan doing volunteer work. Seventeen years ago Mr. Terry changed his status from volunteer to employee and has continued here ever since. Through his gentle get to class to asking us wjiere do you belong this period, he has taught us how to succeed through consistant effort. Mr. Norris over the years has projected an image to each and every student passing through his threshold. It was not an image of incapable youths destined to fail but one of students with abilities to attain the bounds and heights of any mortal man or woman. He blew away our gloom and despair with his confidence and faith in us. He gave us every reason to believe that today begins the best days of the best years of our lives. We saw that every day can be a holiday. It is with sincere thanks that we dedicate this book to two men who helped prepare us for the future.
