They hoped to get all groups involved with repeat cheers like Funky Chicken and Sock-it. The girls succeeded with their peppy smiles and energetic personalities as they cheered and supported all of our athletic teams. Varsity yell was also responsible for our colorful pep signs that were put up to cheer our teams on. The girls put forth great effort which expressed their spirit and Blue Pride at rallies. ln 1977-78, the Panther yell leaders were indeed Ji 1. K

Most people think that all the Panth- erettes did this year was half-time shows at football games, but they also sold pencils and spirit buttons, spon- sored the Homecoming dance and had a garage sale, Over the summer, captains Kim Galles and Lorri Krzin- owck along with dance captains lane Padilla and Lynne Taylor attended a drill team camp at Loyola University. This year the Pantherettes competed in their first competition halftime show hosted by Savanna High School. They also participated in the Daisy Lane Christmas Parade and the Lake- wood Pan American Parade to com- plete a most successful year.
