. 4 g V S at g u 1970 DEDICATIO Bernice Commeau's charming personality and outstanding devotion has endeared her to David Starr Jordan students. The 1970 Trailblazer staff would like to dedicate this year's book to her as an expression of thanks for her continual interest in our lives. Mrs. Commeau has been a Long Beach booster since 1924 when her family was one .ofthe first three families to ever build a home in Long Beach. Although a Polytechnical High School graduate, Mrs. Commeau has become a B. J. B. QBig Jordan Boosterl since she came here in 1955. Her family also played a part in our school's history when daughter Shari became the only girl student body president of Jordan to hold office. Running the student store efficiently is notenough for Bernice: she can always be found supporting our baseball, basketball and wrestling teams. Generation gaps are non existent as far as she is concerned. She feels, lf I try to understand the young people and their problems: they in return will try to understand me: and we all get along. Happiness is having Bernice Commeau as a friend. Friendships can grow for a lifetime. To growth! Thanks Mrs. Commeau for letting it begin. Thank you, 1970 Trailblazer Staff

- -.--....-,,.. .CUMMEAU INS THE HE RT Mrs. Noble-Working with Mrs. Commeau is like riding a ferris wheel, a roller coaster and a teeter- totter all at the same time. There's ups and downs, fun and happiness day in and day out. You never know what to expect. Debbie Miller-She's always willing to listen to our problems. l enjoy working in the student store because I feel like l'm helping Mrs. Commeau. Claire Thomas--She's one of my favorite teachers, but I think of her more as a friend. Dave Allen-Her jokes aren't very funny, but she's really cool. Connie Muis--Though l've only known her a short time, she's a person l could go to if I needed help. The students at Jordan seem to be of great concern to Mrs. Commeau. Homer Griffis-She shows appreciation for athletes by putting pictures and news clippings on the bulletin board outside the student store. Carol Downum-l have known her for three years and l think she is one of the greatest teachers here. She is so understanding and always willing to help, even kids she doesn't know. Chuck Feenstra-She's hard working, loyal and devoted to the students at Jordan. Gail Parsons-She's really nice and she does a good job of running the student store. Mike Price-Mrs. Commeau isn't high pressuring like other teachers. She only suggests what ge should do, but expects it to get one. Collen Falski-She goes out of her way to do things for other people. She's really friendly. OF LL... Carol Ness-l've been in the student store for three years now, and I think Mrs. Commeau is one of the nicest persons l've ever met. She takes an interest in every person she meets, and she never forgets you. Diane Schmidt-l've known her for three years, and l think she's really a great person. She's a lot of fun and easy to get along with. Raoul Sanders-She's an out-a- sight teacher. Mrs. Commeau is understanding and she's got a lot of class. Mr. P. Davis-Mrs. Commeau is one of the finest ladies I have ever worked with. Sherry Maguglin-I only know Mrs. Commeau through interviewing her. Before this lwas very impressed when l would always see her at baseball and basketball games yelling for our team. E E., H
