science t l, A jordan's excellent science department gives students a background in many sciences. physics, chemistry, physiology, biology, photography, aviation science, and practical science are offered. students learn through actual experiments. one year of any science is required by every student in order to graduate, and We have a science to meet every student's interest. the teachers appearing in the picture are, from left to right: mr. gordon nickle, mr. louis mellencamp, mr. jack mertz, mr. harold stanley, miss ruth oh- linder, mr. robert harvey, department headg and mr. robert sweitzer. mathematics has a place in everyones life. we believe that the offerings of the mathematic department at david starr jordan afford an opportunity for every student to receive the necessary background in mathematics that he will need in further schooling or in his other activities after graduation. this department is prepared to help the students meet these needs. the teachers appearing in the picture are, from left to right: mr. walter smith, department heady mr. richard edwards, mr. clem W. reece, mr. norman gale, and mr. armand cure. missing from the picture are mr. edward frank- lin and mr. john hansen. .....?.... math 17 245 Z
