WILSON With the increased enrollment this year, the administration, under the leadership of Mr. Wilson, has had almost a double burden. He met and mastered this challenge. His duties as principal of Jordan are important and very numerous. He represents the school on many occasions. During his years as Jordan's only principal, he has been an essential part of the tremendous growth of the school. alwacvzcalizcztafaa mia MISS BURTYCE LINCOLN As the assistant principal, Miss Lincoln's main iob is that of super- visor of attendance. She is also responsible for setting up the master program for each semester. Her extremely friendly personality is admired by both students and faculty. MR. RICHARD CLINE Mr. Cline, our vice principal, keeps the activities of the Jordan student body running smoothly and efficiently. He is called upon many times to represent our school and shares some of the administra- tive responsibilites. He also spon- sors the Key Club. MR. ARTHUR ROSEMAN Since September of 1942, Mr. Roseman has been a familiar figure on our campus. He was the boys' counselor until the beginning ofthis year , when, with the revised coun- seling system he becameseniorclass counselor. When asked about his feelings toward his work, Mr. Rose- man stated, I enioy my work, and I enioy being here at Jordan. MR. ROBERT ELLIS The 900 sophomores of Jordan have for their counselor the former iournalism teacher, Mr. Ellis. Also, to his credit, are listed such contri- butions to Jordan's development as Sponsor of Cat's Purr and Trail- blazer. Mr. Ellis believes, Counsel- ors are definitely useful to both classes and individual students. egwtezed MRS. CATHERINE KENNEDY For twelve years the Jordan students have been dependent upon Mrs. Kennedy, the school nurse, for first aid and physical examinations. She helps the school doctors, makes home calls, and generally contri- butes to the health and welfare of the student body which she serves. When asked why she chose school nursing for a career, Mrs. Kennedy said that most of all, she enioyed working with teenagers. MISS RUTH NOLD A new addition to our admin- istration this year is Miss Nold, the Junior class counselor. Before com- ing to Jordan, she was a psycho- metrist at Tulare, California. Miss Nold is glad to be counseling at a friendly school like Jordan . MR .. V ' - 'V iff.. . .4 ' Q , sg... 3 ., Q fs ' mf I : . f .ZX ' :day I 4' , f .1 I ,f...i' J ' 3 3,15 '5?f i?' Riley Www eadafza We seniors, after three long years, have reached our hard- vvorked-for, worthwhile goal. We leave behind us pleasant memories of friends, dances, classrooms, and social gatherings. Along with these, the Class of 55 also has not so pleasant mem- ories of exams, long hours of homework, disappointments and moments of indecision. Our senior class officers have done a fine iolo of leading the class through the year, but vvithout our helpful counselor and sponsor they couldnt have been entirely successful. Although most of us coulcln't do with- out our classes, we would like to try. The wide variety of electives helps to make school more enioyable for more people. What would school be without these classes ? JUNIORS - CLASS of '56 JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Upperclassmen today, Seniors tomorrow. The class of '56 had its greatest moments busying itself with such things as planning the annual Junior-Senior Prom, which was a trem- endous success. The Juniors participated in the Christmas Dance, Triple K Week, and most of the athletic events. The Juniors themselves gave this class a most successful and happy year to remember. Jordan was proud to have them as a class. JUNIORS PHIL MILLER, pres., NANCY HILL, v-pres., BEVERLY BATES, sec., CATHY KETTLE, treas. SOPHOMORES - CLASS of '57 Sophomore bewilderment, the first day iitters, future ambitions, all these plus the ex- citement of football games, school yells, dances and new environment go into the word sophomore. The Class of '57 is the biggest class in the history of Jordan. The first day enrollment was over 900 students. The Sophomore spirit is real- ly tops and it helps the student body tremen- dously. The championship playoffs were held here on campus during G.A.A. play day in January. SOFTBALL Softball seems to be the sport in greatest demand. A new system of class competition is being tried out this year. The Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores will vie for the Jordan championship.
