KAY MILLIGAN Vice President ED NICHOLA Treasurer BOe GARNER President RANDA MATHERS Secretary In 1951 the junior class enjoyed an especially active and successful year. Under the direc- tion of their sponsor, Miss Marion Zinn, the annual Junior-Senior Prom highlighted the contributions given by them. A new departure was made this year. The juniors honored the seniors by sending invita- tions to the gala affair to all graduating students. This is the first time this had ever been done. This year ' s theme was ' Paradise ' , and the event was held at Long Beach City Col- lege. The beautiful decorations and excellent program made this fine extravaganza one of the best ever. Another tradition of the juniors is the selection of a group of girls who serve as guards of honor on graduation night. These feminine beauties adorned in lovely formals add the poise and color that beautifies the ceremony. One of the most honored awards of the year is bestowed on the junior class in their rep- resentotion at Soys and Girls State in Sacramento. Four students are chosen on the basis of leodership, scholarship, and responsibility. In conclusion the contributions given by this years class made it stand out as one of the lop in the school ' s history. LIBRARY PRACTICE The class in library practice serves a two-fold purpose. Members of the group give im- portant service to Jordan, and by fullfilling their many duties learn to use the library facilities with ease and efficiency. Activities of the group cover all steps in a library program, from getting new books ready for circulation, to charging books to patrons, checking in returned materials, and keeping the shelves in order. They file catalog cords and check library pass permits. One period, twice a month, the group meets as a class to discuss with the sponsor special library problems. P A G E 64 TRAILBLAZER c.  CLASS LIBRARIANS Class librarians serve their class throughout the semester by notifying the librarian of coming class needs, helping to collect and keep track of special collections for class use; telling class about new materials; helping to control overdues; checking students ' care of room; and helping library assistants to check books at door. Each semester the group plans a program and tea for the members. Second semester this year they sponsored a group of book reviews for interested readers. TRAIlBLAZEi! In the Coast league the Panthers came in a not impressive 3rd place, but with all the under classmen now swimming, next year should be a lot better for a championship team. Our pool is considered one of the best, it not the best, in Southern California, and it should see many Jordan conquests in its waters in future years.
