The Panthers passed to one touchdown and were banging away to another, when with only l5 seconds to go, Kennedy, Poly quarterback, intercepted a desperate fourth down pass ending the threat, Excelsior-Jordan The Jordan l-'ligh Eleven, definitely in a vicious mood, roared to a decisive lll-7 triumph over the Excelsior Pilots. After recovering an opponents fumble, Mason, on a reverse from McDermott, rounded end for the first touchdown, With six rniutes left to play, Jackson passed thirty yards to Booth from where he hit center for the second score. Jackson also battered center for the extra point. Orange-Jordan Soaring to sensational heights in their first league appearance, the Jordan High gridmen turned back a fighting Orange High Team with a 3l -O victory. Jordan opened its first touchdown drive when Bob Mc- Dermott intercepted a pass. Walters was the individual star with his spectacular runs. After reeling off a 62-yard run, which was called back, he went 22 yards around end for six points. Coming back in the second half of the game the Panthers roared 68 yards, from where Jack Schlecht boomed over from the one-yard line. The final tally came when Davis caught a pass in the end zone. Fullerton-Jordan Striking swiftly when scoring opportunities presented themselves, the Jordan High School grid forces rolled to a l3-O victory over Fullerton's in a crucial battle. The Panthers took the opening kickoff and smashed 63 yards to pay dirt. Booth plunged over from the three-yard mark and Jackson crashed the line for the extra point. The Panthers surged Sl yards for the final six points, Bob McDermott going over from the four-yard line. Huntington Beach-Jordan lUpper-leftl Scoring twice in the first period, the Jordan Panthers defeated Huntington Beach 20-6. Jim Booth made the first score of the game going over from the three-yard line. A few minutes later Booth un- leashed a pass making a perfect connection with Davis who in turn lateraled to Walters. ln the third period he faked a kick and started on an end run which led to the final score. Newport Harbor-Jordan lLower-rightl Outplaying their powerful foes for 24 minutes of the first half, a courageous Jordan High Eleven fell before a devastating second period attack as the mighty sailors of Newport hammered out a 7-O ver- dict. Newport scored early in the third period when Sheflin plunged over from the one-foot line. The kick for the conversion was good. Anaheim-Jordan 1Lower-left, Upper-rightl Dick Cline's Jordan Panthers wreaked vengeance for long defeats at the hands of Anaheim by scor- ing a glorious 32-I2 victory over the Colonists. Trailing l2-6 in the third quarter, Walters took a lateral from McDermott and went the rest of the way down the sidelines. Jackson scored later when Jordan recovered an Anaheim fumble. Schwartz rambled 43 yards to pay dirt when he took a partially blocked pass in the third period. The final marker came late in the game. Bee Football '- Squad Row 1. D. Smith C. Gates R. Craig D.
