Counseling and Special Education The counseling department of David Douglas High School provides students with sound suggestions and advice pertaining to their future ambitions. From his freshman year through his senior year each student is assigned a guidance counselor. These professional men and women are the ones who wisely advise the student through his four years of High School. By aiding the students in selecting their courses, the coun- selors have helped direct the college bound scholar in pursuing his prospective field of study and have given generous assistance to those pupils who decide upon vocational occupations after graduation. The department guarantees the David Douglas stu- dent paternal concern, sincere understanding, and expert guid- ance. With undying patience and strong determination the special education teachers aid the blind, the deaf, and the retarded stu- dent in adiusting to the world about him. Constantly confronted with unpredictable and unusual situations, this staff handles each one with cheerful proficiency.
