iT snowed - Twice!! winTer i973 provided a rare TreaT Tor mosT oT cenTral Texas. sTudenTs missed a ToTal oT Tive days because oT snow and ice. as soon as The radio announcer said ThaT There would be no school Tor The day, all able souTh ausTin sTudenTs rushed ouTside To enioy The weaTher. people who were lucky enough To own sleds or snow skis made good use oT Them, while oThers simply used whaT was available: plywood, boaT cushions, cardboard, waTer skis, and even Trash can lids! in mosT places The snow was Too powdery Tor sculpTure, buT neverTheless, enThusiasTic souls Tried Their hand aT snowmen, angels-in-The-snow, and we hear ThaT There were some preTTy Terocious snowball TighTs. all in all, iT was quiTe a change of pace Trom The usual souThern winTer. ,,, T M s 80 winfer - sTudenT liTe
