The boys are taught free style rescue, head carry, cross chest carry, tired swimmer's carry, life buoy surf rescue, and retrieving object. Every semester the members take the National Red Cross Life Saving test, given by Mr. Brown, who is a certified Red Cross Life Saving examiner. The boys who successfully complete the test are given a pin of the society, which attests their proficiency in the art of life saving. To beginners, lessons are given in swimming and also in diving. This is one of the oldest and most popular clubs of the Oliver High School.
