Oliver graduates have survived a stock market clash, a severe depression, several wars and numerous other events which disrupted their lives. ln spite of those struggles, our alumni helped keep America the freest and most productive nation in the world. The tides ofhardship have risen and falleng fortune has frowned and smiled again, but the past masters and mates of good ship Oliver have weathered the storms ofexperience in the march of progress. We are equally proud of the graduating class of l975. The record they have charted throughout the past lbur years gives ample evidence to their zest for living and meeting new challenges. Certainly they will face rough seas in the future, We all know ofthe new-brewing storms. We recognize problems such as the shortages of food and fuel. Possibly. even greater tasks will arise. But we are sure that again, the people ol Oliver will be ready. They have the ability, the enthusiasm, the youth and the faith: those qualities which guarantee success. We place our con lidence in them and the future into their hands. . . . is the captain speaking. A Special Note of The creation of an y High School Yearbook can be painful at times. lt's a frustrating experience for the stab' and their advisor, who must bear the pressure that increases with each successive deadline. It takes nine months of cooperation to gestate the brainchild that you hold in your hands. Treat it tenderly. You have to love this baby just as much as we, its creators. We thank all who assisted in any way with the concep- tion, development and final birth process of the 50th Anniversary OMIC RON , the largest ever. Special credit goes to Raymond Czapko, a 1974 graduate, who also pro- duced the artwork for its cover. We also thank Gregory Novelli who did the leg work for Ray. Without the great cooperation of Norman Charles, our Mr. Evans from Evan 's Studio, we wouldn't have met our deadlines: and without the able assistance of Sandra Rudolph, photographer and another 1974 graduate, our candids would not have been complete. We thank Mr. Joseph Ferraro for the printing jobs he did and Mr. Mike Steele for his photos that we stole. We cannot leave out Tyrone Dirl who ran around the building ajter pictures or Mrs. Elaine Soens who ofered good ideas for the yearbook assembly. The inspirational assistance given by George Stewart of Josten 's American Yearbook for our color selections and special effects cannot be forgotten, nor can the many hours spent by the almost endless list of individuals who helped in many ways. Susan Busha is near the top of this list. ' To Mrs. Nancy Gallman, Miss Athena Saphos, Mr. Ralph Trautvetter and Dr. Mary Cignetti. God bless you for your patient assistance. To all the teachers, seniors and underclassmen, there is no way we can mention all, individually but we love you for your care. To the Oliver Family, including David B. the second, Charles and others, God bless you. Since you all have helped, let us say then, that this book is ours. It is unique, since there never will be another Ham A-Hundred celebration. HAPPY ANNIVERSAR Y!!! As the days and weeks passed, our hoopers seasoned under lire, and, at special moments, became threats to the leading teams in our division. The end-oil season total for the Varsity proved to be a respectable 6 wins, 4 lossesg while the J.V. team chalked up a 5 and 0 mark in city competition. Actually, the team seems to be headed toward a bright future, considering that in WPIAL play our J.V. team fielded two ninth grade starters on the team and played reasonably well versus teams who fielded eleventh graders against our junior varsity. Let's all be like the postage stamp In playing life's rough gameg Andjust keep on a-stickin' Though we hang our heads in shame. They licked it and they pounded it 'Til it would make you sickg And the more it took a lickin' The better it would stick. There are about fifteen little kids ranging from age ZW to 4 years old each day taking part in the course. They have time to play freely among themselves and there is time for stories and leaming. There are six periods of Child Care a day. Two of these periods go into leaming about children and what they are like. During the other four the little kids are here and actively participating in class. The student teachers enjoy this class very much and they get along great with the children. Our experiences in this class have helped many of us to find our attitudes and feelings in our- selves towards other people.
