The journalism class, which publishes the school paper every two weeks, is not an extra-curricular activity, but requires a great deal of hard work and some hours of after-school effort. This year the staff changed the name of the publication from Gorilla Hi-Lites to Gorilla Growl. Evergreen Stcters John Scott, Mike Hutsell, and Jim Haynie attended Evergreen Boys' State at Pacific Lutheran University. Carol Reinbolol attended Evergreen Girls' State at Ellensburg.
