DEDICATION We, the students of the Davenport High School, wish to dedicate this 1945 annual to one whom we owe our thanks for her friendliness cmd companionship during the past year, who has carried her added teaching responsibilities and maintained along with them, the willingness to lend a helping hand whenever called upon. With her assistance it was possible to better the Megaphone, and produce this annual. SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS During the summer months many changes were made in the school building, besides having a new sidewalk placed along the tennis court going to the Smith-Hughes building. The gym had a redecorating iob done. The ceiling walls and bleachers were all repainted and the floor revarnished. But during the basketball season, due to the synthetic rubber on the tennis shoes, the floor was marked all over with black streaks and will probably have to be refinished. All the lockers were pulled away from the wall in order that the base board could be removed. And now that the lockers are in place they fit snugly against the wall so nothing will drop down behind them. This year the third floor was the one that was repainted and retinished.
