JUNIORS The class of '46 began their junior year by electing class officers: president, Wendell Dietrich, vice president, Merlin Zier, secretary, Lola DeVore, treasurer, Louise DeVore, representative to student council, Stanley Reinbold, and advisor, Miss McGovern. As usual the entire year was spent raising money for the Junior Prom and ba wquet. Some of the money was raised by selling pop at football and basketball games. We also had a basket social and dance in December, and a mixer atter the basketball tournament, both ot which turned out to be huge successes. On February 27, we presented our play, 'Ghost Wanted, a mystery thriller which kept the audience in suspense until the tinal curtain. Just before Christmas, most ot the members of the iunior class purchased class rings. Friday, April l3, was not unlucky for the students of D. H. S., because that was the Big Night , Norm Thue and his orchestra played for the Prom. The highlight of the evening was the crowning ot Elinor Zellmer as Queen, and Eva McCaffery and Evelyn Logsdon as Princesses. Preceding the Prom was the Junior-Senior banquet which was prepared by the Junior mothers. :::::::::: A - -: :::: :::: ::: A - .-:::: A -::::::::::

SOPHOMORE CLASS Twenty-five sophomores entered the doors of D.H.S. to start anew to gather knowledge. We elected the following class officers: President, Ermit Holderby, vice president, Keith Morgan, secretary-treasurer, Gladys Furgeson, student council representative, Raymond Riddle, and Miss Greiner was our class advisor. Our class started the bond drive with great enthusiasm, but we lost to the upper classmen, and, with the freshmen, gave a dance to celebrate their victory. During the middle of the year, we lost our class advisor and Miss Hawkes took over. After much argument we voted as our class colors gray and maroon. Most of the girls are purchasing class sweaters. We gave the St, Patrick's dance March ninth. One of the members of the Sophomore class, Lyle Boleneus, left in March to serve his country in the Navy.
