Jane Merhiy, Lepha Nokleberg, Boni Graff, Paul Fredrikson. Fredrikson, Steve Kittelson, Mike Gulsvig. One - Act Play Members of the Speech Class found the Speech Contests, which were held in the spring, to be very rewarding. Humorous readings, serious interpretations, and story telling were events that the individ- uals entered. Students participating in the District Contest at Page were: Charlotte Discher, Lepha Nokleberg, Jane Merhiy, Ron Geerdes, and Tony Nokleberg. The one-act play, Joint Owners in Spain , was also entered at the District Contest. Members of the cast were: Lepha Nokleberg, Boni Graff, Jane Merhiy, and Charlotte Discher. Because of the number one ratings attained at the District Contest, Tony Nokleberg, Charlotte Discher, and the one-act play were entered in the State Speech Contest at Jamestown on May 5.

The Cast of ttThe Katz Whiskers Class text I I I . T A e ext , . EVE h The Katz' Whiskers , a three-act comedy, was presented by the junior and senior classes on November 4, l966. The story dealt with an Ozark family, Mrs. Katherine Katz, and her daughter and son, Miriam and Rodney, who run a boarding house to pay off their debts. Being very kind-hearted, Kitty let a few of her relatives, Mrs. Alicia Katz, and her son Paul, stay on without charge. Kitty and Alicia soon found out from Mrs. J. Gerney Heifer that one of their relatives, John Thomas Katz, was uranium rich. The halarious action that followed showed how three lonely widows set their sights to marry a rich man. Included in the cast were: John Thomas Katz iPaul Fredriksoni, who loved and lost; Bentley Brown iTed Bietzi, a friend of John Tom, who also had struck it rich; Mrs. Katherine i Kitty i Katz iBoni Graffi, who operated a boarding house: Rodney Tiger i Katz iRon Geerdesi, her twenty-one-year-oid son; Miriam i Peg i Katz ELepha Nokiebergi, her seventeen-year-old daughter; Mrs. Alicia t Aliie i Katz, iCharlotte Discheri, Kitty's mournfui sister-in-law; Paul i PoIe i Katz iTony Nokle- bergi, Aliie's spoiied son; Kay Ryiand iAdeie Vangsnessi, a boarder in a tizzy over Tiger; Thelma Thorpe iSusan Cockeriili, a boarder, who is pretty gone over Pole; Humboldt Buzard iDoug Tromi, a boarder who is a super salesman; Mrs. J. Gerney Heifer iMarcia Tuskindi, who jiited John in his youth; Ardyth Heifer iCarole Buchholtzi, her suitry daughter; Eiviry Sap idane Merhiyi, the maid from Tarnation Gap; Oscar Jorgen- son iDei Bernsteini, the Swedish man-of-ail-work; Algernon ithe Duck i Mallard iTom Fredriksoni, in a panic over Peg: Richard i Dick i Richards iMichaei Guisvigi, a friend of Duck's who was also in a panic over Peg; Tabitha i Cousin Tabby i Katz iCaroie Buchholtzi, the bearded lady from the carnival; Clem Corkins iSteve Kittie- soni, the tattooed man from the carnival. Prom Candids Juniors Sponsor Banquet and Prom Soft candlelight, exotic flowers, and Hawaiian music, was the setting for the Junior-Senior Banquet held April 28, l967, at the Gardner Hotel. Paradise Isle was the theme of the banquet. Charlotte Discher was mistress of ceremonies and gave the opening welcome. Paul Fredrikson gave the response. Tony Nokleberg read the senior prophecy and each of the seniors read their senior will. The guest speaker was Mrs. William Vollan, who gave a few remarks and told a few stories about the graduating seniors. The CVC Prom was held Friday, May 5, l967, at the Elks in Fargo. It began at 9:00 p.m. and lasted until l2:00 p.m. George Schoen and his orchestra provided music for the evening. The Elks ballroom was decorated to the theme of Three Coins in a Fountain .
