ttMan Overboard -A Big JLUME Man Overboard, presented by the junior and senior classes on November 3, l967, turned out to be a tremendous success. The play, which took place on the deck of the Steamship Columbia, was about an important businessman, Mr. Van Cleve. He was trying to get some very valuable papers to a secret destination without having the documents stolen by an enemy agent. Mr. Van Cleve succeeded in doing this by securing the help of a charming and dignified woman, Miss Hanna Blair, who seemed to be having some trouble chaperoning four young gir's' Cast of Characters Miss Hanna BIair--A dignified, worried chaperone of four young girls ....... Band and Chorus ti67-68 This year much concentrated effort was used in preparing for the speech and music contests. Everyone was very pleased with the results of these con- tests. On April 5, The District Speech Contest was held at Page. The one-act play and Charlotte Discher received number one ratings in their events. This qual ified them for state competition on May 3, at Jamestown. All speech participants were under the instruction of Mrs. Dodd. The Girls' Trio, the Girls' Tripie Trio, and Charlotte Discher, in both vocal and instrumental solos, received number one ratings at the District Mus ic Contest in Fargo on April 6. Their ratmngs also qualified them for the State Music Contest which was held at Jamestown on May 3. Again the Girls' Tr i ple Trio and Charlotte Discher, in both vocal and instrumental solos, at ta ined number one ratings. The band and chorus participated in the District Music Contest on April 20, in Fargo. Both received number two ratings. The small groups, band, and chorus, under the direction of Mr. Wedberg, also held a Fall Concert, Christmas Program, and Spring Concert. They also prov ided music for Baccalaureate and Commencement.
