We Were There In 1951 52, 38 freshmen sat down for roll call 1n Mr. Olson's home room Dur1ng that year, Bob Jenson and R1chard Provencher left. Dav1d Haapala served as Pres1dent, Carold Anderson, V1ce Presmdent, Jane Provencher as Secretary and Ralph Johnson as Treasurer Beverly G1lmer and Carold An derson were Homecomxng Attendants ln 1952 53 41 loud and gabby sophomores startedout the year w1th a bang' Mrs Schle1cher and Mr Hardy served as adv1sors Carold Anderson was our Pres1dent Davld Johnson V1ce Pres1dent Davld Chastek Secretary and Carolyn Chr1stenson Treasurer Dur1ng th1s year there were three new mem bers DonaldQStublJorges J1m 1SnooselNelson J1m McCoy and D1ck Meyers Bette L1ndqu1st Duane Rokala and Dlck Meyers left later ln the year J1m McCoy and Mar1lyn Nordstrom were Homecornmg Attendants As Jumors we were always 1n a rush a basketball or football game then to D1ck's for most of the lucky ones a dr1ve 1n the moonhght but for some of us a cold walk home Mr Hartman and Mrs Kascht were our adv1sors Here we were g1v1ng the class play That Crazy Sm1th Farruly and then our Ban quet' It was our f1rst Banquet our f1rst formal and maybe our f1rst Orch1d Most of the k1dS went to EXCCISIOI' Who w1ll forget that n1ght'P 9 Marv1n Mat t1la Donovan Chr1ster1son Harry Bleken Jomed our class Joe Nelson and J1m McCoy left us 1n the Spr1ng When we elected our off1cers we chose Ralph Johnson as Pres1dent Delbert W1schman V1ce Pres1dent Beverly G11 mer Secretary and Mary Nelson Treasurer Audrey Rokala and Delbert Wlschman were Homecom1ng Attendants Yes we were Sen1ors f D H S Only one year left and we would be through Ralph Johnson was our Pres1dent Torn Crowe V1ce Presldent Clay ton Strolbe rg Secretary and Paul Lmd Treasurer Homecom1ng Kmg and Queen we re D1anne Beckman and Paul Lmd It would be so wonderful to be out and on our own but as the months flew by everythmg took on a d1fferent l1ght It was our last t1me for a lot of th1ngs our last football game basketball game Our Banquet and then Graduat1on Now we were on our own As we walked by the statue on our way out that Graduat1on even1ng we were no longer students of D H S We were Alumm of the class of '55 eva l 1 9' tif 2,196 1- 7 1 - ' 5 - 1 , ' I . 3 . , . . 3 . , 5 1 - ' n a 1 r , 1 9 . , . -- ' I S s p . l .
