At tnidseason, Coach Hayden cut his three starting seniors and decided to go with the younger boys. The younger boys continued to play inconsistent ball but some of the boys showed good promise for next year's team. One of the brighter spots of the year was the playing of Sophomore. The matmen took their first meet from Hutchinson and then were barely defeated by Willmar 23-22. The team was further strengthened in mid season by the additiontof Roger Werner, one of last years veterans. All the boys on the team have shown great progress this year and have great possibilities of entering the state tournament. The wrestling squad works under the supervision of Coach Gene Olson. These points are earned by participating in athletic and recreational activities both in and out of school. The F.F.A, Foundation Awards were as follows. Soil, James Dahlmang Mechanics, Daniel Haaplag and Dairy, Jess Elzeag John Carlsted received the Dekalb Leadership Award. David Anderson was presented with the Pioneer trophy for the highestyield of corn. Robert Dahlman was given the registered dairy calf donated by the Dassel State Bank. Joseph Nygaard was awarded honary membership. This years activities will end with the Judging Contest at Morris and the State Convention at St. Paul.
