S D i v i s I o n Serve l50,000 meals! Pay 250,000 dollarsl Sound fantastic? Those are two or the many, many functions of S Division during our cruise. These are the men who run the galley, ship's store, laundry, ice cream gear, dis- bursing office, and many other vital functions aboard ship. It is S Divi- sion which feeds us, clothes us, pays us, and furnishes the thousands of things large and small, that enable us to do our jobs. The preparation and serving of food for the 225 men aboard the DASHIELL during the cruise was the largest iob done by the men of S Division and one that they have done exceedingly well. To the men who ran the ship's store goes another salute for the many bargains we were able to buy there. It was the profitsfrom this opera- tion which enabled us to enjoy our ship's parties and to help pay for fhis book. l had the mid watch last week l told you it wasn't in stock. M 1 0 - v . Apparently, the Lebanese knew of our return date because our re- visit was heralded with gunfire, a presidential assassination, a sic li- 1: r . . Q - . - n 1 an Q 9 , - . . Others attempted midnight swims while still others enjoyed Miss Namet's enlightening tours. E If youdidn't buy a camel saddle, fez, blurnose or try a drink of Arac or smoke a Hubbly-Bubbly pipe, you failed to treat yourself to some of the local color and in- trigue of this Free Port.
