Do not work west of Buffalo, so should probably move to New Jersey where I have a branch office, but can’t seem to tear my family away from western New York. Summers and fall arc beautiful here, and there is really no experience quite like being snowbound in this country for two or three days (such as I am as I write this) in the winter. Spend most of my free time on the golf course; lucky to have a wife who also plays. Do some fishing, a little traveling, but mostly getting to be a homebody. Alice and I joined the married group in Middle Fayerweather and then Sachem Village. Fond memories linger of our early struggles through pre-med, mcd. and work in the Bursar’s Office and Hitchcock Clinic. Our first daughter. Holly, was born in Hanover in January 1949—a real Sachem papoose. After Med School graduation went on to Medical School of University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1951. After 4 years of internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sisters Hospital. Buffalo, N.Y., moved to Anaheim. Cal., and began practice in July 1955. Bill Jr.. Joan and Debbie had arrived in Buffalo to keep Holly company. Difficult move so far away from friends and family but warm welcome and great new friends soon made the Andersons feel at home in this golden corner of the U.S.—plus, we had Disneyland. Practice grew, so did interests—and family. Eric arrived in 1962 to even slightly the male-female ratio. Have filled the years with camping, work, skiing, work, boating, work. Enjoy our home and small orange grove in the hills outside of Anaheim. Medical and community activities have grown with the years also. President elect of Orange County Medical Association for year 1970 biggest job of the future. With 4 teenagers and a lively 7 year old. we don’t have time to worry about the years passing. One in college with wedding plans for summer 1970 and four to go. Our wonderful years in Hanover instilled in us. among other things, an appreciation of the value of the slightly rural life. We’ve enjoyed the beauty of this great country from coast to coast—from the White and Green Mountains to the Sierras—from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Happy to meet occasionally with the Orange County Dartmouth group—other transplants like us. 12
