mcnt, thcncc became Service Manager in Buffalo, then Salesman in Atlanta. He worked in the Chicago Office as assistant to the Merchandising Manager in 1952-53 and then returned to Atlanta as key account salesman until '58 when he was moved to New York to become salesman calling on the Worlds Largest Store . In 1963 he became Sales Manager for the New York area, the position he so capably handles at present. His attractive wife and 16 year old son. Brad, like to ski, golf and play tennis together. He is active in community affairs, the most important being Press Chairman for the Westchester Classic Golf Tourney for benefit of local hospitals. I.ikcs yellow tics. Favorite hobby is Cartography. Still playing a lot of squash—singles and doubles. Still active in Dartmouth doings—local interviewing chairman, and past President of the Dartmouth Club of Georgia, and Westchester County, New York. Blessed with a gorgeous wife who is a photo model when she isn’t playing a lot of good golf with her 11 handicap. Our current goal, when time permits, is to travel extensively on the West coast with golf mallctts. 2 goal—a family ski trip to Europe. JOHN THOMAS AHEARN (Deceased) WIFE: Rita CHILDREN: Patricia, John T. Jr.. Rita. Timothy, Mary. 1942-46 S Sgt. Army A.F. 1948-51 Field Engineer—Stone Webster; 1951-55 Resident Engineer— Greeley Hansen; 1955. Supt. Hercules Concrete Pile Co. Dartmouth Activities: Delta Kappa Epsilon. JOHN J. AHERN JR. Rt. 3. Box 447, Excelsior. Minnesota President, Schiller Investment Company, Inc. WIFE: Annette (Univ. of Minnesota ’49) CHILDREN: John, 21, Amherst, '71; Philip, 19, Connecticut, ’73; Paul, 16, High School. Left Dartmouth after one year to serve as Ensign on DD-837 four years and finished college (BS) at University of Minnesota. Hindsight says now I should have gone to Tuck School or Harvard Business but marriage and opportunities in a family business took precedence. Have always been my own boss. Like it that way because of opportunity to make more of my life with the freedom for travel and the ability to take advantage of whatever comes along without being tied down to a rigid schedule. Have managed Hotels, Movie Theatres, developed and owned real estate. Biggest venture was as President of a packaging company with seven factories. Sold this company to a New York Stock Exchange company in 1964. Currently am President of my own investment company. We operate a chain of Beauty Shops, have developed several pieces of commercial real estate this year, we do consulting work (specializing in mergers and acquisitions). We also manage commercial real estate and invest funds for our own accounts in all types of listed and unlisted securities. Memberships include Rotary Club of Minneapolis. The Young Presidents' Organization, and Directorships of The Second Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis. United Church Homes (Also President) and other groups and organizations. Future ambitions are to spend less time over the next ten years on business and put more time in on activities to improve environment and quality of life. I am convinced that if people don't come forward to lead activities aimed at reducing pollution, lower the rising rates of violence, and bring general peace to this Earth, the good life we have enjoyed since leaving Dartmouth won’t be available to present day young people, even in the short space of the next ten years. 7
