FOREWORD This informal picture book of '286rs and their ves is being sent to the 497 active members of our lass, and to interested widows, with the hope that it 11 give you pleasure over the years ahead. Our 25-Year Book contained pictures of the entire amily but this time we decided against including the hildren because so many families are scattered that t would be impossible to get group pictures. Your wonderful response to the request for photo- aphs was very heartening and if we had not run out f time, more of you might have been persuaded to ave a picture taken. To meet our goal of having the nd out at our 40th reunion allowed time the first request for ictures was mailed. The book contains the same t264i number of pictures as the 25-Year Book, despite the fact that over 100 classmates have died since then. To make the biographical pages easier to under- , we should point out that the line under the address starts with the first name of the wife, if there is one, then the nane and age of the children, followed by the number of grandchildren. -If only the name and address appears, or a meager amount of information, it is because the questionnaire was not returned even after two requests. If you note any errors or omissions, we would consider it a favor if you.would write us immediately. We tried not to repeat biographical sketches con- tained in the 25-Year Book, but simply to bring you up-to-date on what members of the Class are doing now. We also mentioned those who attended any of the last three reunions in Hanover. Appreciation is expressed to John Phillips, who volunteered to bind this book in hard covers tas he did 15 years agoi, to Nancy Elliott, in charge of the Alumni Records Office, to Dick Frame for the very fine pictures of our 35th reunion, and to Bill Hobson for his pictures, and to Bill Morton, Craig Haines, Cal Billings and all of you for your cooperation and kind words of encouragement. we hope our bonds of friendship will be strength- ened by this book.
