A few days before the commencement exercises of last year, the class held an election which was to determine who would be the oiIicers of the school. When the votes had been counted, the class had elected Peter Salsbury, who had led us for three years as class president, as president of the school. Along with him were elected Dan Wayne, vice-president: Dick. Furman, secretary, and Topher Nye, treasurer. After commencement, we left school proud in the knowledge that in the fall we would at last be the governing class at Darrow. This year, our last year, has been a fairly quiet one. Peter Bommer, Charlie Booth, Fred Rindge, Dick Shohet, and Jock Willis appeared on the scene to give the class its finishing touch. Peter Kauffmann and Richard Busch of last year's senior class decided to spend another year with us. One of the highlights of the year was the Barclay Baby Pool per- petrated by Thorn Lord, and won by Paul Huang and Charlie Booth. Probably our favorite incident was Mr. Brodhead's American History class impersonation of Charles I chasing moths through his palace, while the Dutch fleet stormed up the Thames. Subversive activities in Father's john, and other events helped to make our year a colorful one. And so, after entering Darrow, and having spent four or so years of growth here, we are now leaving this mountain side where time, in some instances, has seemed to move so slowly, and in other instances, has as- tounded us with its swift passage. After experiencing life at Darrow, many of us are intensely interested in its future. Thus, a development such as the proposed building of a new dining room tends to assure us of a brilliant future for the school. As we leave Darrow, we like to think that in the minds of all of us, the emphasis is not on the past, but on the future.
