It has. l think, been a memorable year mainly because we did so well in sports. We only lost one game in football. one in baseball. and one in basketball in the league, and won the State Basketball Championship to boot. Not a bad record IRI say. Wie are also graduating the largest class in the history of llarrington High. sixteen girls of tllese boys in institutions All this makes a good deal. have helped to those of you your minds to and sixteen boys. and a large proportion and girls are going to further their education of higher learning, again not a bad record. me feel that we have accomplished quite antl l should like to thank the students who make the year a success. l do hope that who are returning next fall will make up do as well if not better next year. lt pays to study hard. and to play hard. the number of scholarships won by our Seniors this year Certainly proves that. So let's re- solve to make next year the best that we possibly can so that when we come to its end we will be able to be proud of it. Good Luck to the departing graduates, we will all be keeping our eyes on your accomplishmentsg and welcome to next year's Freshmen. Back, left to right: Mel Hansen. Winnie Bagley, Charlie White. Front: Fred Rensink, and Arlie Smith. To the students of Darrington High: The year of 1955 has been a very eventful one for Darrington High School and its students. Football was started again and the boys did an excellent job, con- sidering their lack of experience. Then came basketball, with a squad that had six seniors. This was to he the year-how good we could not forecast. However, after dropping a few games early in the season, the boys won both the Northwest District and the State B Cham- pionship. We also were tops in the Eastern Division Baseball League and lost 5-4 to Oak Harbor in the championship game. Gerald Greene went to the State Track Meet. but the other boys were too fast, and he didn't place. These events, together with the other ac- tivities, make this year an outstanding one in our history. A great many scholarships were given at Graduation. I sincerely hope that these are amply repaid by quality of work done in college. Time marches on and as it marches, may everyone enjoy life to its fullest extent. Sincerely, H. O. Edwards Madge Greene's duties as office secretary were to make pro- grams. type tests for teachers and run them, off on the mime- ograph, keep the high school attendance records, type cor- respondence for Mr. Lewis, and last, but by far not least, to m a k e out excuses-passports hack to skipped classes, or what- ever your excuse may have been.
