Priuvip I In the past year. some of the things I have done are: typing. mimeographing. answering telephone. keeping the attendance registers. etc. I think one of my favorite jobs has been teaching a class when a teacher was gone. In general, I try to do whatever is needed to be done. and be of assistance in any way I can. I would like to add that I have thoroughly enjoyed working here. I like both students and teachers and find them really swell. ff Q COLLEEN REECE Secretary To the Students of Lincoln High: The other day a Junior hoy came into my office with another boy and requested that they both go out and spend their study hall picking up paper on the school grounds. Naturally I gave my consent. To the best of my knowledge. this is the first time since my coming to Darrington that anyone has volunteered to spend time in helping to make the school a hetter looking place. That was why I was surprised and delighted too. for that matter. I hope this only the beginning of this kind of school spirit. I guess we will all rememher the winter of 1952-53 when we didn't have very much snow all winter and the school year seemed to rush along with un-natural speed. I will rememher our part in the hasketliall tourn- ament not so much for our succes but for the fact that when the going was tough. we showed our good sportsmanship. We have learned how to lose which perhaps. harder to learn than anything else in sports. I should like to use this opportunity to say that I am proud to he connected with Lincoln High School and value highly the friendships I have made here: and to all of you. I wish every success in the future and may you never forget when the going is tough how to stick up your chin and take it with a smile. Sincerely, G au C. HOWARD LEWIS Secretary
