During the holiday convocations, they sang selections. In January, many members formed en- sembles or took individual songs to the state contest at Frankfort. Later in the spring, the concert choir went to the state concert at Lafayette Jeff. The highlight of the year--the annual New Market Festival--was on March 29. On the whole, the year was very successful and their talent was greatly appreciated.

They sold flash- Sentinel: Don Threlkeld ing lights for slow-moving vehicles after dark, and again held the Advisor: Mr. Ron Larew annual slave auction. Several boys won awards in judging contests, Abe and Rick attended the national convention in Kansas City, and the chapter farmed here and helped to farm land near the site of the new school.
