Throughout the years, 4-H has been an organization whose members have had a chance to discover more about the world they live in through various projects. We have been fortunate to have several outstanding members recently. Last fall Rob Shelton traveled to Chicago with other Montgomery County 4-Her ' s as did Beverly Wilson, who was chosen Miss Montgomery County. Many other members have won awards and honors on the county and state level for their projects. ROW 1: J. Quigg, R. Shelton, R. Boo- her, N. Wilcox. ROW 2: J. Boots, P. Branstetter, B. Smith, R. OFFICERS: President: Abe Hodgen V-President: Don Mahoy Secretary: Larry Personett Treasurer: Chuck Anderson Reporter: Rick Brock Sentinel: Dave Huffer mrf m n M DARLINGTON The Future Farmers of America is composed of boys interested in agriculture. Their many activities have been beneficial to both themselves and the farming community. As a money-making project, the FFA has sold slow-moving -vehicle signs, which by law most farm equipment must have. One project that these boys undertake each year is the farming of an experi- mental plot. All of their hard work has had its reward, as the FFA has won several awards in judging contests. Two boys, Abe Hodgen and Larry Personett, had the privilege of attending the national convention of the Future Farmers of America, which was held in Kansas City. Members of the Stu- dent Coimcil were busy this year, plan- ning Homecoming, teacher introductions, and various other projects. Many of the Council ' s ideas came from the summer workshop, attended by Mike and Paul, and the state conven- tion last fall , to which most of the members went. Annual S taff STAFF Editor: Diana Crowe Co-editor: Betty Price Bus. Manager: Linda Horn Advertising: Kent Butler Copy Editor: Ronnie Schoen Activities: Susan Evans Sports: Mike Clouser Class Editors Elem.: Mary Cohee High School: Linda Smith Teachers: Carolyn Mennen Seniors: Barbara Dickey Photographer: Mahlon Smith This year ' s annual staff has been hard at work for nearly a year, trying to make this annual the best ever. Starting with ads, orders, and then the most important work of all--the actual layout--the entire staff has successfully met its deadlines and coped with all the questions and confusion that go along with the planning. Climaxing all this work was the arrival of the annuals, which we think are the best ever assembled. Throughout the year they have had an initiation and several parties and have seen film strips and movies.
