Class 'I-hstorg In the month of September I9-4I we the present seniors entered Darling ton school as first graders starting on the lono road of education After five more years of routine study and recess came the thrill of going up stairs The constant changing of classes and other upstairs confusion left us in somewhat of a daze for a while but our Junior High basketball team soon conquer ed our thoughts In the fall of I9-49 we were officially in high school We felt rather important at the beginning but as the upper classmen laughed at us and called us green freshies we soon came back to earth Oh to be an upper classman yes that was the foremost thought in our minds That year we had several promising fellows on the basketball team and Marilee Lidikay was one of the capable cheerleaders With the able assistance of our teachers and long hours of study we soon realized our ambition we were sophomores The item of most importance in our sophomore year other than annoying the freshmen was getting our cardinal and white class sweaters Oh were we ever proud' During this year we sponsored a chili supper which added funds for our mons represented our class on the basketball team As luniors we started the year off with a bang by surpassing all of the previous magazine selling records after which the losing contesters prepared a swell turkey supper for the winners Another important event was that of getting class rings A chicken supper and square dance was also a prominent means of increasing our bank account Again this year we had Don Harshbarger Gene Leath Jim Remley and Dick Timmons on the basketball squad After much hard work we proudly presented the play YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU As school drew near a close we gave our unforgettable STARDUST prom Here we are on the last stretch of our high school life seniors Our CHIEF so that it will be a good one is taking a lot of our senior time For the second year in succession we have had several well represented classmates as members on the county championship baseball team Also we are proud to have Gene Leath Don Harshbarger .lim Remley Dick Timmons and Max Lough on the basketball team and Marilee Lidikay Mike Gray and Bob Stewart cheerleaders So far our senior year has been the best yet and we are sure that with a trip planned to Washing ton D C and New York City it will continue to be so We will always hold a spot in our hearts for the grand times we have had here at good old DHS IRMA DEE PARKER 0 , I I I .
