Will MWAYS IIEMEMBHI The Colonial Prom, when we as Juniors honored the Senior Class of '49, All of the decorations, table appointments and other details were suggestive of colonial days. Streamers of crepe paper in shades of lavender and violet encloseda banquet hall and ball room in the gymnasium and made a canopy for each. At each place was an attractive booklet containing the menu, program, names ofjuniors and seniors, their sponsors and class officers. The covers were in lavender and violet and the words Colonial Prom were in gold. Just before the dinner three freshmen girls, dressed in colonial costumes, served mint julip in the ball room. The southern style dinner was prepared by the mothers of the juniors and served by twelve freshmen girls wearing black skirts, white blouses, and lavender aprons. Following the banquet, the evening was spent in dancing to the music of .Tack Cunningham's Dance Band, which was seated onthe portico ofa colonial home. During the dancing the three colonial ladies served punch and passed confetti and serpentine. 26
