VARSIIY BASKllBAll SUUAH The basketball team for the year 1949-1950 had quite a bit of experience before they started their season. To start the Indians on their way, Coach Gibbs arrived at this combination: Fred Dunbar and Jim Tharp at guardg Bob Mikesell at centerg Tom Thompson and Myron Peebles at forward. Other players shifting around with the starting five were Barton Branstetter, Don Harshbarger, and Gene Leath. Coach Bob Gibbs and his tribe of Darlington Indians complied a record of both victories and losses during the 1949-50 basketball campaign. By the time the season was nearly over, Darlington proved it could fight some of the stronger teams on an even basis. Don Goldsby and Eddie Cox were capable and reliable student managers for the year. SUU D

SURFACE The Girls Glee Club had a membership of thirty four this year. They combined with the Boys Glee Club to give the annual Musical Revue in October. During the second semester the Glee Clubs sang in the county Music Festival at Crawfordsville March 21. Special anthems were furnished for Baccalaureate Program. The last appearance for the year was the Spring Concert in the school auditorium. The Choral Club is a group of select voices. They have appeared on programs for the Thanksgiving and Sunshine Convocations, and Mothers' Tea. 1949 H All
