Welcome home Ron! Officials Jim Huston, and Dennis Murphy proved that officials played an important part in any baseball game. LETTER WINNERS: KNEELING; Joe Dorman, Jim Bertolini, Terry Kiester, Bryce Blaser. STANDING; Jerry Kilcoyne, Doug Holmes, Tim Everson, Jim Huston, John Reichling, Tom Grimme. The Redbird Baseball team • was led by 3 seniors, Ron Coffey, Dave Larson and Curt Wang, who added sta- I bility to an otherwise young : and inexperienced team. The team fought off an 8 I game losing streak to win 5 • out of their last 7 games, finishing with a 7 win and 12 loss record. One of the highlights of the season came | in the Regional Champion- • ship game against the Blackhawk Conference • Champions, Belmont. The • Redbirds came through with : a convincing 16 to 4 victory • to advance to sectional play • at Lancaster. Curt Wang was chosen • team captain of the 1976 squad and sophomore, John Reichling was voted most valuable player by his team- • mates.
