Speech Stimulates Many an Eager English Student. Miss Marguerite Connelly Remedial English English IV Latin I,II Advisor: Senior Mr. Larry Murphy English III Advisor: Junior Mrs. Kay Johnston English II Advisor: Sophomore, Redbird, Drill Team, Cheerleader. The Speech Department welcomed a new teacher Mr. Mueller. Speech I and II were offered. Speech II put on a play that received an A rating at the eliminations in Platteville. The library was busy with activity this year. Mrs. Whalen was librarian in the morning and Mrs. Sinning was librarian all day. There were only two student librarians this year. Many new books and magazines were added to the library. English is an ever open subject. Many students sink deep into literature and come up with new under-’ standing. Freshmen studied Romeo and Juliet , sophomores studied Julius Caesar , juniors studied the history of American Literature and seniors studied the history of English Literature and studied the age old Hamlet . Home Ec Banquet, Language Lab, and Musical Add Variety to Life. Home Ec teacher, Mrs. Turgasen taught Frosh. and Soph, girls. Mrs. Stevenson concentrated on Jr. and Sr. girls and Bachleor Survey. Both ladies supervised the annual FHA banquet and the style show. Spanish students were busy with the addition of a language lab, helpful for independent study. It has three tapes and a radio in one unit. Mrs. Dominguez could talk to each student privately through the ear- phones. Mr. Wood worked hard with music students to put on this year's musical— Plenty of Money . Mrs. Carolyn Stevenson Home Economics III,IV Home Ec Survey Boys Home Economics Advisor: Senior, F.H.A.
