MRS. THANIA T. DOMINGUEZ Spanish I II MISS SUSAN SCHROEDER Spanish Practice Teacher AT THE Spanish fiesta, some boys demon- strate a bullfight. Foreign Language Broadens Proudly admiring the Spanish bulletin board is Yvonne Heins. This year, for the first time in the history of the Foreign Language Department of D.H.S., a fiesta was held. Under the guidance of Mrs. Thania Dom- inguez and practice teacher, Sue Shroeder, the Span- ish classes from the Junior and Senior High School met at the swimming pool park on a Saturday after- noon. The students were instructed in the skills of the bull fight and the correct way to break a pinata. The purpose of the fiesta was to help the students to understand the recreation of their Latin American neighbors and as a farewell to Miss Shroeder. Students Learn Business Skills DURING HER Clerical Practice class, Sally Thomas types a manuscript. This year two two-hour sessions were added to the Business Department. Clerical practice, typing II . . . secretarial practice, and shorthand II. In past years these classes have been only an hour in length. They were lengthened to two hours to give the girls simulated office experience. The girls were even given a chance to work in the school office. These business courses joined the traditional courses of shorthand I, typing I, and bookkeeping. DICTATION IS taken from the Audio Secretaries by Tom Wonders learns the correct skills of typing.
