Music, Library, and Art Induce Relaxation D.H.S. was happy to welcome a new librar- ian this year. Her name is Mrs. Fern Sin- ning. Mrs. Sinning helps Mrs. Linda Whalen in the morning and in the afternoon alone. The art classes I and II under the leader- ship of Mrs. Mary Sleep have been quite successful in learning new crafts. They have been constructing mobiles and work- ing with copper tooling. MR. ROBERT WOOD Band Chorus Redbird Advisor Senior Advisor Again this year the sound of music was heard vibrating through the halls every morning beginning with first hour and then fourth hour. MRS. JOHN SCHREAR Biology Driver Education Senior Class Advisor HEY LOOK, my bacteria's moving, exclaims Suzi Bredeson. Sue Suchomel and Karen Wendt carefully work on another chemistry experiment. Science Investigates Jesse Nance from the Atomic Energy Committee visited DHS as one in a series of lyceum programs this past year. He presented an interesting and entertaining discussion on atomic energy. Student volunteers from the audience added to the general appeal of the presentation. Mr. Nance, as a follow-up to his program, visited each of the science classes to answer any questions that may have arisen.

Larry??!! This year the annual Mother-Daughter banquet was sponsored by the FHA classes. The theme was A Visit With Our German Neighbors, with Mrs. Fred Ruf and Mrs. Lyle Olson speaking on their recent excursions to Germany. A new class, Bachelor's Survey, was added to the curriculum of Home Economics and was taught by Miss Meyers. The FFA boys enjoyed their monthly athletic nights again this year, in which they played basketball with surrounding schools. They also took their yearly trip to Jag Lake. SAW IN hand, Larry Saalsaa busily works on a new feeder.
