Senior Ball fcw69 On the evening of December 21, 1968, flicker- ing candles, glistening silver bells and gaily decorated Christmas trees set the mood for the social event of the winter season. At the stroke of nine, the doors opened and admitted DHS students and returning alumni to the land of Silver Bells.” The Royal Court led the traditional Royal Dance. As time passed, many anxiously awaited the moment when Jean Loken would be crowned queen of the 1968 Senior Ball. Escorted by King Bob McGranahan and her royal court of honor, Queen Jean led the traditional Royal Dance fol- lowing her coronation. Paul Hemmer and his orchestra provided the music for the gala fes- tivity. At the close of the evening, many left for post-Ball parties, souvenirs in hand.
