They backed the Redbirds with pep meetings before garner, displaying posters, sponsoning bus tfiips to out- otown games, helping with the ban- quet ho no fling athletes, and doing all they could to promote school spirit. Membefis showed theifi pfiide in the tfiophies won by Redbirds by keeping them clean and bfiightly polished. The Pep Club backed the cheefileadefis and bought theifi uniform with funds fiaised by the girls’ hafid wofik selling hot dogs, candy, potato chips, and pop during football games. A newcomefi to the VIIS Pep Club this yeafi was Rosy Redbird. This counterpart of Wisconsin’s Sucky Badger was the creation o$ Linda Steger, who designed and made the costume worn by Cheri Howery, our first Rosy Redbird. We all enjoyed the part played by this delightful bird. PEP CLUB The Pep Club officers were Kay Virtue, President; Cathy Elmer and Joanne H ether y, Publicity Co-Chairmen; Mary McVonald, Vice-President; Sharon Jorgenson, Secretary, and Judy Jorgenson, Treasurer.
