In nineteen hundred fifty-three We entered as freshmen green Our superior classmates reported A more timid group was never seen. To a trying initiation we submitted And were accepted by one and all We finally found our way around Each long and spacious hall. In September '54 Sophomores were we and thought it mighty nifty To initiate the Freshies Who made up the Class of sixty. We studied hard and had fun. And as everyone knows We helped to entertain the school By staging Pep Club shows. Then Hooray! We were Juniors jolly And mighty glad and proud were we To get our sparkling classrings For all our friends to see. At last came our big night When Judy reigned as queen Of our wonderful Junior Prom With its quaint Little Dutch Mill theme. Many courses we studied through the years. We tried Physics, and English and Chemistry, Citizenship, Biology, the Social World, Geography, World and American History. Boys took Ag; Girls Home Ec. To learn how things should be done. Some like Geometry; others Latin; While still others thought Algebra fun. My friends, a year we've been a Senior Class We've had our annual skip day, Assembly shows, studies and work, Ball games, track meets, and our class play; Band, Glee Club, banquets fine, And more studies while we waited; Exams, report cards, baccalaureate, Diplomas - - and lo! We've graduated. So now as we go our separate ways Remember as we say, Good- Bye , The fun, the work, the friends we've made During these years at Darlington High. — 19 —
