CLASS CF 49 Our class IS offrcrally recogn1zed as one whlch has an abundance of talented and cap able members We have successfully com pleted half of our study 1n good old Darlmgton hrgh and look forward w1th great enthusrasm to our remammg years here We are proud of our many achrevements whrch Wlll pave the way for greater success 1n the future The freshman year was one we w1ll never forget' The freshman party the 1n1t1at1on gave us a boo t and general mtroductron 1nto hrgh school l1fe the class pxcnrc held at Ames Branch was another h1ghl1ght of that great year In September of thrs year many of our boys answered the call to report for football prac tlce and the1r work on the squad contrrbuted to the champlonshrp whrch was attamed From the experlence they have galned we confident ly look ahead to more champxonshrp teams Basketball was another popular sport wh1ch several members of our class partrcxpated All of the boys showed good promrse and we hope w1ll achleve a champlonshlp rn that sport next year To help the good work along rn athlet1cs our class elected v1vac1ous Rosre Hastert as cheerleader Her fme work w1th the rest of the cheerleaders added greatly to rnsplre the stu dent body and the teams Yes our class 1S very versatlle' BeSld9S an act1ve group partlclpatmg 1n athlet1cs we were also represented w1th several band members srngers ln the Glee nothmg of the FHA and FFA whrch have a large percentage of our members actrvely engaged 1n 1lS work Peter Grlbertson Ioan Havens Werner L19Chl1 Robert Monson and Tom Armstrong were the sophomore sh1n1ng stars rn the operet ta ROSIG Hastert and Carolyn Paschal were members of the orchestra The annual staff representatrves of our class consrst of two am brtxous members Ioan Havens and Werner Lrechtr The mam socral event for our class was the successful Sophomore Shuffle held on Valentme s eve I ' 3' ' ' ' ' Club and mixed chorus, forensic events to say 28
