CLASS OF 47 We re here belxeve 1t or not' Ever smce we started school our teachers feared th1s day would never arrxve for some 1t hasnt' The worst class rn school unable to do anythrng w1th you rmposslble were phrases we gradually got used to hearrng For some t was a shock when we reg1stered for hrgh school and they ve been sorry ever smce' Once we got started nexther snow nor ra1n or sleet nor harl could keep us from school but a beautrful sprrng day could' The Freshman party was an event to be remembered as our most embarrass1ng moment All those b1g upper classmen laughed at us' Oh the horror of rt' Yet the rest of the year cont1nued 1n much the same way As Sophomores we regarned some of our old pep but agarn got knocked down Many of the boys and glrls partlcrpated rn athletrcs and other school act1v1t1es and made an excel No' Jw 42' -f- 9 si.. af lent record not only for the class but for them selves as well Bug collections Srlas Marner and vacatrons were some of the xmportant events of the year Then the prom Ah yes some g1rls went and those that drdnt swore off men forever well at least untrl the next day' The most rmportant month of the entxre school year frnally arrrved May and we were all happy to be elevated to Jumors Everythmg that happened dunng the exalted Junror year was completely overshadowed by plans and preparatrons for our Stardust Prom Moonllght cockta Imean musrc and apple blossoms added to the beautxful settlng and the mood and everyone lrved happrly ever after' Now at last as semors we f1nd our t1on of Darlmgton Hlgh CBut try to convrnce the faculty of 1t'l Our many act1v1t1es consisted of a successful Senxor dance after the m1d semes ter exams the class play Brother Goose coached by Mrss Connelly and the fmale of 1t all graduatron Although we are about to Jom the ranks of Darlmgton alumnr and assume the responsrbrl rty of the future memorles of our Alma Mater wrll be carned wrth us all and cherxshed throughout our lrves I ' . , i - , ' I selves the old, wise and looked-up-to popula- , 4 5 . pf . , C l . - . vg za .mn f . . j y so . . . .- 7 . . 12
