LONA MORRIS ' DISI-IING TI-IE DIRT ON THE SOPI-IOMORES If turtle neck sweaters mean any- thing, the sophomores are cinema- minded. Shhhhh-it's a deep secret. Jud's on a diet. I-Ie has to wear suspen- ders to keep his pants up now. What is this thing called love? Mourning may become Electra, but M. M. S. likes red. Speaking of becoming, this sopho- more 4oo is becoming a pretty fast crowd. Richard Cwoman-haterb Wichus is again on the market-just look at the tilt of the tam. J. J. B., Jr., has a passion for Valentines and sooooooo he sent 'em by the dozen. You know- those nice big lacy ones that would make any sweet young thing think that she was the only girrul in the wurruld. l'm asking youvdo you see any- thing quite so nice on the street as the buxom young lasses of the sophomore class-l'rn asking you? And the trousered sex-they're sheiks. Yowsah! And then theres the sophomore girl who went for a ride in a Dodge and came home in a truck. Although many vain sophomorian attempts have been made to fore- stall it, one dark-eyed freshman girl is wearing a senior ring. Ask me! l-las Miss Slattery a hand- ful with this mob or has she a handful? Maybe you didn't know it but one enterprising young sophomore al- most got taken for a ride for attempting to do this column. One sophomore was asked to write a class history and he popped up, What-and get sued for libel? -W. W.

L UCILLE DONAHOE wwf l 7' At nine o'clock, September 5, IQ32, fifty-six eager freshmen were in their I seats ready to begin their high school term. Since we were now in high M - ' school, we had the same rights as the rest of the pupils and were also,.7y5f 41,42 -1-L ' allowed to take part in their activities. ' As all classes were allowed to have some pleasure mixed in with their ' i x f scholastic work, we took advantage of it by having a wiener roast several ,f..1.v M11 weeks after the beginning of school. Of course, we also had a freshman ' ' LL, party, but it was somewhat different from what had always been the rule, for the reason that we were not initiated, but only served the upper classmen at dinner. We have all had both our happy and sad moments with which we will help build our minds and bodies to reach our goal as seniors. -F. s. X xl! I '47
