At last! No more nouns and verbs, equa- tions and proofs, cause and effect, laps around the gym, or naming the bones in the body. Break has arrived. A time to relax. A time to chew gum without, hopefully, getting caught. A chance to talk without being told to stop. If it wasn't for break and lunch, many students would have a difficult time mak- ing it through the day. Break and lunch serve as pit stops. But all good things must come to an end. The bell signals an end to the good times and it's back to the rigors of education. 1. Good work is so hard to find. Wyman Cook helps out by filling the drink machine after lunch. 2. Breaktime. Break serves as a time to refuel. 3. Breaktime basketball. Many students prefer to play basketball instead of eating during break and lunch 4 Did you hear about what happened to ...? Brooke Gainey and Kathy Isgett manage to get in some gossip between bites. 28

Escape From Alcatraz Escape from Alcatraz.” A lot of work went into the Prom, but what followed was well worth it. The servers, Tim jordan, Scott DuBose, Todd Gibson, and Scott Marlowe; were dressed in their chain gang” stripes. Mike Ousley, the D.j., played everyone into a trance with beach music favorite, and heavy metal before the hour when everyone broke out and headed for the Beach. 1 Let's dance. Juniors and seniors enjoy a slow one 2. So sad. Senior Tim Isgett seems to have misplaced his date 3. Masterpiece. This sailboat was the hit of the evening 4 Streamers and more streamers. No prom would be complete without the miles and miles of paper streamers 30
